What is it about?

During the last Better Business Model Workshop, participants from five different countries learned how to make better business models based on key business concerns. Having been introduced to the value propositions of brands such as Warby Parker and Airbnb, participants defined their own value propositions for different customer segments. Equipped with the patterns of the Business Model Toolbox, participants were able to challenge and improve their initial ideas until these ideas became business models. As a result of the first workshop, three business models emerged which aimed at supporting refugees by ensuring food provision, educational opportunities, and comfortable work environments. At the closure of the workshops, participants walked away with concrete next steps to further develop their concepts.

What you can expect

We will start by exploring existing businesses in order to understand the various aspects and dimensions that can be improved to deign Better Business Models. After generating an initial set of ideas, we will challenge these concepts with different business model patterns. At the end of the day, you will have drafted an initial version of a business model and know which next steps are necessary to create a quick prototype.

You will:

  • Explore existing companies and their business models
  • Understand the different aspects associated with Better Business Model
  • Start creating your own Better Business Model based on customer needs
  • Learn about available resources and specific approaches you can apply in practice

What participants say

The Better Business Model workshop helped me have more clarity about my business model and to get feedback and input from the other participants. I also had a great time with balanced theory and practice of the tools we learned.
